Skill Level: Advanced beginner
Materials:
-
1 skein fingering weight yarn such as: Pemaquid (100% Superwash merino); Eastport (80% merino, 20% silk); Casco (60% Superwash merino, 30% bamboo, 10% nylon); Queen City (90% Superwash Targhee wool, 10% nylon); or Monhegan (100% Superwash merino).
-
PLUS one wee skein of fingering weight
-
1 x 32 [80 cm] or longer circular needle in US 5 [3.75 mm], 6 [4 mm], 7 [4.5 mm], or size needed to obtain gauge
-
Darning needle or crochet hook for weaving ends
Gauge: Match your needles to your yarn, gauge is not critical here. Size will change accordingly, more yarn may be needed for weights larger than fingering.
Notes: This asymmetrical shawl is worked in garter stitch with a simple k2tog + yo row to make a clean transition between colors. It is a great stash buster for leftover bits and bobs. Cast on with a Maine Yarn & Fiber Supply wee skein and pair it with one of our many hand-painted skeins.
