Cable Knitting for Beginners
Class date: Saturday, May 21, 2022 – (10:30am-12:30pm)
An introduction to the world of knitting cables! Cables are a great way to add texture to any project and are much easier to create than you would think. The technique involves the crossing of stitches over one another which makes a twist in the fabric. There are endless possibilities in how cables can be utilized. Once you’ve completed this course you will be confident in tackling any project that has cables in it. This class will focus on the basics of creating cables, how to use and choose a cable needle, how to knit cables with and without a cable needle, and how to read cable charts and written instructions.
Prerequisites: Casting on and binding off, Knit and purl stitch.
Materials needed: 1 skein of Worsted weight (non-textured) yarn, 1 pair of US Size 6 needles, and a cable knitting needle.
If you do not have materials you may purchase them before the class. Students will receive a 10% discount on all materials purchased on the day of the class.
